Brittle feeling
…clear as glass

Emotion boils
…growing fast

Passion looms
…preceding Hate

Reason flees
…Anger stays

Expanding fear
…Trembling, lost

Tainted memory
…unwholesome cost

Tired aching
…reaches deep

Starves the body
…of restful sleep

Failing expression
…empty recess

Shattered reality
…unsettled rest

Understanding
…retreats within

Once again
…despair will win…

That's a nice one. Does that have a certain name? I've never seen that format before. I'm terrible with format, mine are just thrown together and no meter lol
:iconpencillicious:
mmm...well, it's just rhyme really. I don't think it's any specific form beyond that. it's not like it's a quatrain or a haiku or anything...just a nice little rhymed poem.

^_^

Thanks Kylie...I"m glad you likey! :)

When one has dealings with scholars and artists it is easy to miscalculate in opposite directions: behind a remarkable artist one not infrequently finds a mediocre man, and behind a mediocre artist often a very remarkable man.

thanks a lot sweet. :) I'm doing pretty okay actually...if I can get the moodiness out in poetry form it usually doesn't get me downish....

...have a huge project that's looming to keep me distracted anyhow!

*scuttles back to the drawingboard*

wonderfully done hon! this is really sad, but all too common a thing...the loss of hope and reason, and settling for despair and eventual madness...

But I'm glad you are ok now...I know how well we can get into a mood sometimes...and it sometimes seems that we enjoy it for awhile. I certainly create my stuff when I am in an altered state of mind...but of course that is forced sometimes...and then it's not depressing enough of a mood to create some of the art I need to get out of my head.

I have a constipated brain...like a clogged drain...I need roto-rooter for my mind!

Thanks so much!

Yes...those altered states of mind can do all sorts of interesting things to one's work...can't they? ~_^ LOL.

I've always found poetry to be an excellent for of release when the emotions start getting all bottled up inside. Sometimes...I just write whatever comes to mind...sometimes there a bit more focus to what I'm trying to say....

This morning's poem...just came out of nowhere and demanded to be written...so write I did! But it definitely did the trick...for I am muchly bouncy happy now! YAY!

^_^

roto rooter for the mind... *dies* I though that was what Lovecraft was for....
