Despair is a sea
dark, troubled, grey
where ships like lost souls
are stranded by Fate.

Longing, the wind
she\'s mournful and sad
begging for surcease
in a world gone mad

Redemption, the beacon
alone in the night
indistinct, intermittent
a far distant light

Despair rages forth
a distant sandy beach
rending the coastline
with vicious sharp teeth

Longing does tear
it shrieks as it wends
her deafening song
seems never to end

but the beacon remains
in it\'s tower of glass
glinting and shimmering
trapped in a deep, dark morass

for Hope is the beacon
the guide in the heart
that shines forth in splendor
when all else is dark.
